About us

Rena and Dave (Tomato Dave, to his neighbors), live across 37th St from each other. Our families became friends while walking the neighborhood in utter boredom during the pandemic, and have been passing breads, cookies, soups, garden vegetables and helping hands back and forth since 2021.

With her Roosevelt grad going on to college this fall and only one more teen at home, Rena was feeling sad about having less kids to cook for. Dave is mostly retired and spends his free time trying out recipes, smoking ribs and pulled pork, and canning salsas, pestos and dips to share. Together they decided to put their time to use to help younger, bigger and busier families eat healthy and local.
